I'm Donna! The chaos, creator and driving force behind Black Cats & Moonlight. 

I have always been somewhat creative and started making candles in 2023 as gifts and for a creative outlet.

I had a stroke in 2023 and then again in July 2024, it turned my life upside down - twice.

As a result, I had to leave my career and really struggled with feeling lost and grieving the parts of myself that were gone. I didn't know how to reinvent myself.

After a lot of encouragement, I decided to turn my love of candles into a business and, taking inspiration from Morticia and Ophelia, my gorgeous black kittens - Black Cats & Moonlight was born in 2024. 

We're not your average candle company. We’re hand poured horror, invoking memory & storytelling with scent, inspired by film, folklore & the chaos of survival that would make a final girl proud. Every product tells a story. It’s not just wax, it’s art with the right amount of heart.

Black Cats & Moonlight has become a way for me to re-establish my place in the world, be unafraid to take up space and be more than the things that have happened to me.

I want to make products for people like me; people who maybe feel like they don't quite fit, feel seen and appreciated. 

It takes bravery to stand out in a world that wants everyone to fit in Inclusivity is at the heart of everything I do here; I want to celebrate the out of the ordinary, because that's what creates magic and It's my hope that my products bring a little magic and joy to your spaces.🖤
